I’m Stefan Wullems. Digital marketer with an engineer's mindset

I started programming at 18 when my cousin and I finally started working on the game we had been imagining for months. He did design and art, and I had to learn how to code. Brimming with confidence from making a sphere move in certain ways, I started applying for software jobs when a kind recruiter referred me to a web development bootcamp. Ten weeks of hard and exciting work launched me into a career that led me to work all across Europe for companies ranging from small startups to rapidly growing unicorns.

In just a couple of years I found myself in places I couldn't have imagined at the outset, but couldn't help feeling like I had lost something along the way. I wanted a reset, to explore those things I had written off as "not in this lifetime". I stepped outside of tech, launched a tiny coaching practice and started going to university to study Psychology in the evenings.

Today, I am at the start of a career change towards digital marketing. This field has it all. It allows me to do everything I love: analyze, learn, write code, strategize, and at the same time: understand and connect to people. It captivates with game changing trends like AI that are reshaping the field and it has lots of deep, interesting and stackable skills to master. I may be back at the bottom of the mountain, but I found the right mountain allright.
